Kailasanathar Temple

                           This temple was built by the Pallava king Narashimhavarman -2 (700-728 CE). The whole temple complex is built out of sandstone. But for the load-bearing course of Adhisthana, I.e. Patrika, which is of granite. On plan, the temple consist of the garbhagriha aradhamandapa, and a shine built by Mahedravarman, all facing east side.   The sanctum has thesomaskanda panel in addition to the polished Dhara kinda which is a characteristics feature of all  pallava temples. The prakara wall has 58 small shrines attached to the inner surface of the wall.  Small shine There is on their series of seven attached to the outer surface of the prakara wall.

The stone were quarried either form the rocky out crop near Trichy in the west
 Or near pudukkottai.

Stracturally, the Brihadisvara temple is the greatest of all the temples built in India. Rajaraja, the builder of this temple planned this temple not only to be perfect Starcture but also  a great institutions.

 But rajaraja began the construction of this temple sometime in  AD1000.This temple construction completed in 110AD.




Rajaraja's rule come to an end by 1014.
