This temple was built by the Pallava king Narashimhavarman -2 (700-728 CE). The whole temple complex is built out of sandstone. But for the load-bearing course of Adhisthana, I.e. Patrika, which is of granite. On plan, the temple consist of the garbhagriha aradhamandapa, and a shine built by Mahedravarman, all facing east side. The sanctum has thesomaskanda panel in addition to the polished Dhara kinda which is a characteristics feature of all pallava temples. The prakara wall has 58 small shrines attached to the inner surface of the wall. Small shine There is on their series of seven attached to the outer surface of the prakara wall.

This magnificent palace in wood, stone , mortar and plaster was started by Nawab hyder Ali khan in 1781AD and completed by Tippu sultan in 1791AD.. It's is suited within the fort walls of Bangalore, next to the Sri Venkataraman temple.

The upper chamber and balconies can be accessed by four staircases leading to them.
The central portion on the first floor, is a large hall leading off to four smaller rooms at it corners.
These rooms are considered the zenan quarters.
