Kailasanathar Temple

                           This temple was built by the Pallava king Narashimhavarman -2 (700-728 CE). The whole temple complex is built out of sandstone. But for the load-bearing course of Adhisthana, I.e. Patrika, which is of granite. On plan, the temple consist of the garbhagriha aradhamandapa, and a shine built by Mahedravarman, all facing east side.   The sanctum has thesomaskanda panel in addition to the polished Dhara kinda which is a characteristics feature of all  pallava temples. The prakara wall has 58 small shrines attached to the inner surface of the wall.  Small shine There is on their series of seven attached to the outer surface of the prakara wall.

MAHENDRAVADI CAVE TEMPLE



Mahendravadi village is located in Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipeta District of Tamil Nadu, India. The cave temple in this village is an important one as it is the only cave temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which was constructed by Mahendravarman I (600-630 CE). The Parpana street and Big Street shows evidence of a very old house system in culture and towards worship of Lakshmi Narayan and Siva. There are two old temples, namely Siva Temple and Lakshmi Narayanan Temple, which define the history of the village. It was believed that these temples were from the old Pallava history. Very surprise to note that Mahendravarman 1 is towards Shiva. But the cave temple and Lakshmi Narayanan Temple dedicated to Vishnu.
